Dorothy Grenada: Victory in Nicaragua! As this is written, it appears the Nicaraguan government has abandoned its attempt to expel U.S. Nurse Dorothy Grenada. This victory is a great credit to Dorothy Grenada herself, to the Nicaraguan people who rallied in her defense, and to every one who wrote, faxed, and called in support of Dorothy’s safety. Thank you to Rep. Louise Slaughter for signing a congressional letter of support for Dorothy sent to Nicaraguan President Aleman.
THIS MONTH’S LETTERS: STOP THE MAD BOMBER! We all knew George W. wasn‘t going to be a friend of peace, but I don’t think many people expected that, less than a month into his term, he would bomb Iraq. (Well, his daddy did it and everyone loved him and hung up yellow ribbons.) WRITE TO W. TELL HIM TO STOP MAKING THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ SUFFER EVEN MORE THAN THEY ARE SUFFERING ALREADY. White House, Washington DC 20005.
Free Lori Berenson: Please call the White House and ask Bush to do more for Lori than Clinton did. She has been in prison over five years! 202-456-1111.
