Save the Dates: Saturday, March 20th—Massive National March & Rally in D.C.
People from all over the country are organizing to converge on Washington,
D.C., to demand the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. and NATO forces from
Afghanistan and Iraq. On Friday, March 19th, there will be a day of action
and outreach in D.C. <www.march20.org>

For people not going to DC, GVCP may organize a local peace event.
We need to remind people that seven years have passed since the I
nvasion of Iraq, with no end in sight. Please attend
the next GVCP meeting to discuss this.

Friday, April 30th – Sunday, May 2nd, 2010--New York City Big conference
and rally to support the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Sponsored by
Peace Action & PANYS.

This Month’s Letter: Ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty! Speaking at
the United Nations on September 24th, 2009, President Obama explicitly
affirmed the U.S. commitment, under international treaties, to eliminating
nuclear weapons.

Now Congress needs to get on board. A first trial will be whether the
Senate will ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), which prohibits
all nuclear test explosions. WRITE: Urge our Senators to support
ratification of the CTBT! [From FCNL.]

Renew your GVCP Membership. Dues are $40.00 (more if possible, less if
necessary). We do not request dues from other organizations with which we
exchange newsletters, or from any of our overseas sister organizations.
Student affiliates should fill out the form, but need not pay dues. Remember
that GVCP doesn’t ask for financial contributions during the year.
Membership dues are our only source of income. Please renew! [$5.00 of
your dues goes to PANYS.]
