SAVE THE DATES: SATURDAY, AUGUST 21^st, TIME & PLACE TBA. GVCP DISTRIBUTES PEACE BUMPER STICKERS. We are still negotiating with the Village of Geneseo about our right to distribute these bumper stickers. People ask for the bumper stickers, take them, and display them. More info in the August newsletter.

This month’s letter: CLOSE THE SOA! Representative James McGovern will introduce HR 1258. This bill calls for a suspension of training at the SOA, pending a full investigation into all defense training in Latin America. Rep. McGovern has set the goal of having at least 150 Representatives signed on as co-sponsors to HR 1258. So far 124 co-sponsors have signed on. As I write this newsletter, Reps. Quinn, Slaughter, and Walsh have stepped forward as co-sponsors. Reps. Houghton and Reynolds have not co-sponsored. Please write or e-mail Reps. Houghton and Reynolds and request they co-sponsor this bill:
