" THIS MONTH’S LETTER:  Write your Representative about H.J. Res. 55 –

Homeward Bound”  A bipartisan coalition in the House of Representatives is

calling for an exit strategy for the Iraq War.  This resolution is

cosponsored by Democratic representatives Abercrombie, Kucinich, Meehan,

Woolsey, and Lee and by Republican representatives Jones and Paul. H.J. Res.

55 demands that:

(1) The President announce a plan for troop withdrawal by December 31, 2005.

(2) At the earliest possible date, the U.S. turn over all military

operations to the elected Government of Iraq and provide for prompt and

orderly withdrawal of all U.S. troops.

(3) Troop withdrawal begin as soon as possible, but no later than October 1,

2006.

Although this resolution alone is not a complete solution, it is a necessary

first step toward developing a comprehensive response to the crisis our

Administration has created in Iraq.

Write to your representative today.  [House of Representatives, Washington

DC 20515]  Urge him or her to cosponsor this joint resolution!
