SAVE THE DATES: Friday, May 24th. CIA Director to be honored by RIT. GVCP needs to be there too! We are outraged that the Director of the CIA should be given an honorary degree by any college. It’s worse when the college is in our backyard. RIT has been in bed with the CIA for years. Emboldened by 9/11, RIT now flaunts this special relationship. THIS MONTH’S LETTER: Reduction in U.S.-Russian Nuclear Arsenals. Presidents Bush and Putin are expected to meet May 23-25. Before that, Sec. of State Powell and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov were to meet in preparation for this summit. It is very important that they produce a legally binding agreement on substantial reductions in both countries’ nuclear arsenals. This is even more important in view of the destabilizing U.S. withdrawal from the ABM treaty. WRITE to Sec. of State Colin Powell. [2201 C St NW, Washington, DC 20520] Tell Sec. Powell that you want him to fashion a permanent, verifiable, and legally binding agreement with Russia that requires deep cuts in both countries’ nuclear arsenals. Tell him that the U.S. and Russia must work together to decrease the danger posed by their nuclear weapons. Both nations must assume a leading role in ridding the world of nuclear danger.
