WAR AGAINST IRAQ CONTINUES.  The Democrats won in House and Senate, and Rumsfeld resigned, but the war against Iraq goes on.  Most commentators believe that the war against Iraq was the most important deciding factor for voters on November 7th.  As much as many of us applaud these election results, they won’t make any difference to the U.S. GI’s or the Iraqi people unless we push our politicians to change U.S. policy.  We can discuss the best ways to bring about change at the next GVCP meeting.  In the meantime, write to your Representative and Senators and tell them that your goal is peace in Iraq.  Each of us can decide about the best way to bring about peace, and our ideas need not all be the same.  What is important is that politicians hear from us now!
