Dear GVCP Member:
NEXT GVCP MEETING: SATURDAY, October 18th, 2:00 PM, 36 Westview Crescent, Geneseo.
NEXT GVCP ACTION: GVCP WILL PARTICIPATE IN A MASSIVE PEACE DEMONSTRATION IN WASHINGTON, DC. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25th! JOIN THOUSANDS TO DEMAND THAT PRES. BUSH AND THE CONGRESS:
¥ End the occupation of IraqÑBring the troops home now!
¥ Use tax money for jobs, education, and healthcare, not for war!
¥ Defend civil rights and civil liberties!
¥ Protect the ConstitutionÑRepeal the Patriot Act!
GVCP (along with SUNY Geneseo Anti War Coalition and Honeoye Concerned Citizens) is sponsoring a bus to DC. Between now and October 25th, we have to find 57 people to ride the bus, and find over $2000 to pay for it.
There is a good-faith difference of opinion within GVCPÑand within the peace movement nationallyÑabout the timing of this demonstration, and the wisdom of calling for an immediate end to the occupation of Iraq. We reached consensus that we would organize a bus in the Genesee Valley, and we would find the people to fill it, and we would have a presence in DC on October 25th. Our signs may emphasize civil rights, reduced military spending, impeachment of Bush, or other demands. THE MAIN POINT IS THAT GVCP WILL BRING 57 PEOPLE TO DC TO PROTEST THE POLICIES OF OUR COUNTRYÕS WORST PRESIDENT EVER. [ALL OF HIS POLICIESÑTRY NAMING ANYTHING GOOD GEORGE W. HAS ACCOMPLISHED!]
YOU CAN HELP! Send $40.00 to GVCP to reserve your seat on the bus. Tell your friends. Send additional $$ if possible so we can offer seats at a reduced fare to students, unemployed people, etc. DC IS THE PLACE AND NOW IS THE TIME!
Bus leaves from 3889 North Rd., Geneseo, 11:30 PM Friday, October 24th. We will leave DC about 6:00 PM Saturday, and return to Geneseo about 2:00 AM Sunday. 3889 North Road is at the corner of Lakeville Rd. (Route 20A). It is east of the village of Geneseo, and is one mile west of 390 Expressway Exit 8. Make checks out to GVCP, and send to GVCP PO Box 363, Geneseo, NY 14454.
