This month’s letter: Ratify START treaty! The vision of a world free of
nuclear weapons moved closer to reality with the news that the U.S. and
Russia have agreed to a new Strategy Arms Reduction Treaty.
The treaty will be signed in Prague on April 8th. The START treaty will further reduce
the number of deployed nuclear weapons in both countries' arsenals. It has
the support of many political leaders . However, predictably, conservative
forces in the Senate will try to block ratification.
Ask our Senators to support ratification of the START treaty when President Obama
submits it for their approval.
Sen. Gillibrand: Tel (585) 263-6250 Fax (585) 263-6247.
Sen. Schumer:
Tel (585) 263-5866 Fax (585) 263-3173.
Both Senators have offices at the Federal Office Building,
100 State St., Rochester, NY 14614.
Use websites for all lawmakers to utilize electronic mail.
