This Month’s Letters: Call for Nuclear Sanity!  Rep. Ed Markey of Massachusetts has reintroduced the Smarter Approaches to Nuclear Expenditures (SANE) Act in the House of Representatives.  The bill calls for cuts in nuclear weapons spending.  So far the bill has 39 cosponsors, including Rep. Louise Slaughter. While it doesn’t go as far as we’d like, Markey’s bill represents a big step in the right direction.  If passed, it will save $100 billion over the coming decade by curtailing more than a dozen dangerous and provocative nuclear weapons programs.  

WRITE to Rep. Slaughter, thanking her for her co-sponsorship.  Write to your Representative, if she/he has not co-sponsored, asking for co-sponsorship.
